Express Yourself! Come experience arts-based activities for emotional wellness.
Time2PlayBreak offers a safe virtual environment where you are encouraged to engage in spontaneity and creativity through dramatic play and other expressive arts modalities. Active and experiential approaches are used to facilitate change by attaining a better understanding of yourself, your goals, and your values.
Dramatic play and other expressive arts modalities can be a fun, gratifying activity that improves a person's spirits and brightens his or her outlook on life. Dr. Tanja L. Lee uses projective and embodiment techniques to assist you in processing and tolerating difficult feelings, improving social awareness, and increasing self-confidence, but Time2PlayBreak is not ‘therapy’ in the counseling form. It offers the therapeutic principles that encourage individuals to “try on” different roles to learn more about themselves as well as express feelings and to gain insight about and resolution of inner conflicts.
Play allows individuals to express emotions, problem solve and practice life skills. The ability to play encourages an individual to be spontaneous, imaginative, take risks, explore roles, and practice behaviors in a safe enough environmental setting. Additional benefits are…
· Improve communication and listening skills
· Improve self-esteem and boost confidence
· Develop respect and acceptance of self and others.
· Learn to experience and express emotion.
· Cultivate empathy
· Learn new ways to cope with stress and anxiety
· Manage anger, depression, and emotional pressures
